When in Miagao: Cafe Diem

HOW UP-MIAGAO STUDENTS ARE:

constant craving: city food | constant need: legit coffee

I enjoy being here in Miagao. it gives you a whole new experience no other schools in the city can give. You get exposed to a whole different culture of people both from the UP community and even outside.

But then there's always missing. Until Cafe Diem came along.

At first listen, it's obviously a wordplay for Carpe Diem (which means 'seize the day')--a beautiful turn-around of what has now become known as YOLO. The first time i heard about it was during the start of the second semester and it only opened last December 2014. with the tagline: seize the day with a cup or two, cafe diem is the solution to all our unpredictable city food cravings.

I went to Cafe Diem, together with my good friend, Jesse (see: We Need To Talk About Jesse)

They have a decent selection of rice meals (incedibly student-friendly), frappes (guilty pleasure), coffee & tea, smoothies, belgian waffles and pancakes. Students even leave notes on the walls, which provides temporary entertainment while waiting to be served.
Despite its limited space, it's such a cozy place to be with your friends, maybe a date and occassionally to study. Word of advice: Come for the coffee, never to study. Students swarm at unpredictable times and they're not always quiet.

ALL DAY BREAKFAST MEALS!! Jesse and I both ordered Hotchicksilog (chicken hotdog, sinangag or fried rice and itlog) due to the lack of other sumptuos choices (which rarely happens btdubs). We were so hungry I forgot to take a picture before I dug in!!

And for dessert, a banana nutella smoothieeeeeee. it's banana and nutella, what's not to love??
