It
was a hysterical late night Youtube viewing.
I
was browsing the internet for interesting things that has to do with the words “literature”,
“funny”, and “weird” when I came across a Youtube video entitled “Hysterical
Literature: Session One: Stoya”.
Two
things caught my attention. Firstly, the title “Hysterical Literature” really summed
up the funny bit with a bite of literary aspect. Jackpot! Secondly, the name: Stoya.
For
those who don’t know, she’s one of the popular- let’s put it mildly- Adult actresses in the US (just google
her ladies and gents).

NOW
my curiosity was stimulated (YES, there’s innuendo in there), an adult actress
reading a book that’s supposed to be funny? I never quite got the point at
first, as she was reading "Necrophilia Variations" by Supervert. She was
reading about death when she started having these dry heaving sounds. This continued
until when the video was reaching its CLIMAX, she also, well, reached her
CLIMAX.

It
was a fun and interesting way of literary expression, so I searched what Hysterical
literature was about and luckily found its own website. In its “about” page its
description was:
“Hysterical
Literature is a video art series by NYC-based photographer and filmmaker
Clayton Cubitt. It explores feminism, mind/body dualism, distraction
portraiture, and the contrast between culture and sexuality. (It's also just
really fun to watch.)”
Turns
out, the other videos have the same content: a woman reading a book, during
which she’s being sexually stimulated; at which point when she reaches orgasm,
she also stops reading. With literary works such as “A Clockwork Orange” and “American
Psycho” as one of the reading materials, the video series truly was a fun and
unique way of introducing reading to the masses.
Watch
the videos, for it is truly a hysterical- and sexual experience.
hahaha epic :D
