S.top T.hinking O.f P.rocrastination!

“I’ll just do it later” is what most people always say when they have something to do but is too lazy to do it even though they have free time. They prefer sitting in front of their computers playing games and checking their facebook statuses rather than starting their work.

Procrastination is what usually happens to students and sometimes even to professionals. It has always been a question of why do they keep on procrastinating though they have been allotted enough time to finish their works.

Due to the different factors, students tend to set aside the important works and choose to hang out with friends instead. Moreover, they are more interested on checking the latest K-Pop Dramas or music that showcases their favourite idols than checking their notes. Most especially, the advent of the high technologies is the main distraction not only to students but to working adults as well.

Nowadays, the more important question to answer is not why do people procrastinate but how will they be able to stop it?

First, make sure that all the tasks are orderly written in a daily planner to avoid forgetting it. One reason for procrastination is remembering a work that needs to be done at the last minute. Also include a specific date when it will be submitted. Make sure to give a day allowance before the deadline so that it can still be fixed if there are any corrections.

Secondly, set aside the distractions such as computers and parties. If the work needs to be done in a computer, make sure not to open unnecessary tabs for it will delay the completion of the work. Moreover, reject party invitations especially if the project needs a lot of time to be done. Parties can have an extension but a deadline is absolutely a deadline especially for strict professors and bosses.

One key to stop procrastination is time management. If there are many things to be done make sure to use your free time wisely. Avoid making excuses every time you’re not in the mood to do your work. Avoid saying “later” because later is not always better.

Moreover, working individually is much better than working with group. The work area must have plenty of space so that you can move freely. Working alone is also an advantage when it comes to thinking and planning. It can also save time that may spend on talking and chit chatting with friends while working. Silence in the work area makes your work smoothly and easily done. But however, if it needs to be a group work everyone must know how to set aside their social issues over work.

Lastly, but definitely the most important thing to do is to know your priorities. Set your mind to the work and focus. This will help in getting better with your goals. Setting your priorities is also a proof of being a well self-disciplined man.

At the end of the day, it all depends on the decision you’re going to make. If you want to get a high grade or be promoted in your work, then do your job beforehand. If you have greater plans for your future, you must start doing your work right and in time. Stop procrastination! Stop it now!

You won't want to look like this right?
